Position Description
Icon Marine Manufacturing Limited, located 15 minutes drive from the north of Christchurch are seeking applications for suitably qualified and/or capable aluminium fabricators for boats, trailers, and assorted other projects as per the needs of the business. Boats range from 3.6m dinghies to 16m+ monohulls and catamarans, both pleasure and commercial. Trailers range from a dinghy trailer to a launching trailer for a 12m boat and everything in between. By the nature of our business group we get a lot of repair and customisation jobs through the door so the right person will be adaptable to whatever project is put in front of them and be able to offer solutions to meet our customers needs.
Our brands include;
Ramco - production alloy trailer boats and trailers
Kwikkraft - family jet boats, commercial jet boats, Coastguard Rescue vessels, Off-shore pleasure and commercial boats
Icon Custom Boats - mono hulls, catamarans, pontoon vessels, pleasure, commercial, Coastguard
Icon Alloy Trailers - bespoke trailers of all types
The ideal applicants will be proficient in both MIG and TIG welding, or if only proficient in one must be prepared to invest the time in mastering the other. The nature of our work means both forms of welding are required on a regular basis. While boat building experience would be beneficial its not essential. The right attitude and ability to learn and adapt to the unique challenges that boat building throws up will be vital!
