Position Description

MAST Academy (Marine and Specialised Technologies Academy) works with learners and employers to ensure people gain the necessary skills and knowledge to build successful lives and businesses.

Our goal is to be a centre of excellence for marine, composite and specialised training including industrial textiles fabrication and vehicle & marine trimming. We deliver workbased training/apprenticeships throughout New Zealand. MAST has an exciting vision for the future and are looking for you to join us on the journey.

This Academic Lead Role is a pivotal role working closely with the Learning, Development and Marketing Manager to lead the quality assurance programme for MAST. The role includes these key knowledge areas:

· Programme applications to our Workforce Development Council and NZQA

· Internal and external Moderation of assessment pre and post-moderation scheduling and coordination

· Support for self-review and stakeholder engagement advisory groups

· Coordination of consistency review reports.

Extensive knowledge of NZQA quality assurance and compliance requirements is a must. Able to work independently within a team, with excellent communication skills, and attention to detail. There is variety within the quality assurance and academic requirements so the ability to work to a workplan and pivot easily is a valued skill in this varied and busy role.

Ideally, we are looking for someone with a depth of experience in a similar role either for an ITO or PTE or WDC. Must have documented 5 years+ experience in quality /academic standards with NZQA. A sound understanding of compliance requirements for a PTE is essential.
Understanding of what excellence may look like for a workbased apprentice based PTE is desirable. The ideal person will have worked with apprenticeship training and campus-based training in a fast-moving changing environment.

This is an Auckland based role with flexible working arrangements within a very supportive fun team. We have a wellbeing package, are currently based in Westhaven, with parking available but we are close to public transport also.
Must be able to work in the office and we offer one day a week working from home. Applicants must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be a team player and be a Resident or Citizen of New Zealand to apply.
