The team at Dickey Boats is keen to include another first-rate upholstery professional within our high performing Marine Interiors team.

About the role:

The Marine Interiors team comprises of highly skilled tradespeople specialising in cabinetry, soft liners and upholstery, together contributing to deliver an outstanding and award-winning interior finish.

As an Upholsterer, there will be immediate opportunity to add value to our boats by working in the following areas:

  • Construction and installation of foam-backed liners, panelling and trims
  • Working with vinyls, leathers and various fabrics and threads
  • Single and double needle sewing machines
  • Creating various foam shapes and textures
  • Develop seating and squab solutions

Being physically fit and working in a planned and organised manner within a small team are prerequisites for the role.

Candidates will require organisational skills and creative thinking aligned with the company brand and workplace values.‍

Our ideal team member is a hard-working, honest, respectful individual who brings energy and enthusiasm to the group, Ideally you will have:

  • Proven experience working in upholstery, with demonstrated expertise in those fields.
  • Skilled in upholstery techniques, including patterning, fabric selection, sewing, stuffing, and fixing upholstery materials
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality workmanship
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and instructions accurately
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and machinery commonly used in upholstery work
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing project requirements
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials as required‍
