Our design experience ranges from displacement type, multi-hulled vessels right through to very high-speed catamarans with hydrofoil supportive systems. In between these extremes we have vast experience in semi-planing catamarans and mono-hull designs.

TEKNICRAFT's designs are mostly for commercial and para-military applications, however in recent years the number of recreational catamaran designs has increased
significantly. This follows the market’s increasing realisation that the beneficial properties of Teknicraft‘s unique hullform and hydrofoil system can be utilised over a wide spectrum of different applications.

Nic de Waal, managing director and Fellow of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects, has been designing catamarans for over 30 years and his hull designs have been proven to provide excellent balance between stability, low resistance, high speed, good fuel economy and excellent ride comfort. With more than 200 designs
in operation, the salient features have been proven in many applications and different sea conditions.

Teknicraft provides a complete design service including structural engineering with finite element analyses where required, naval architecture using computational fluid dynamic analysis, propulsion system, mechanical systems, piping systems, aesthetical design, fit-out and interior- and exterior arrangements. The
designs are always done in close collaboration with the relevant classification societies and local marine safety authorities.
