THE ROLE

Bowmaster is seeking an experienced “hands-on” operationally focused project engineer to drive/spearhead the production engineering coordination of their Superyacht and retail customers. This is a real opportunity to grow and learn in a role including manufacturing systems for Superyachts, Naval vessels and retail product. It's a very diverse role, project management engineering of our projects including factory liaison, ISO9001, quality management & documentation management, project procurement. This is a newly created permanent position, reporting directly to the General Manager, a competitive remuneration package is offered. This is a chance to shape the engineering process and have ownership of systems, it's a challenging role but very diverse and exciting.

The role is yours’ to own end to end and grow inside the company framework, it is something you can get your teeth into, stamp your mark, and make a difference!!!

The ideal candidate will be highly organised, structured, enthusiastic and professional, team-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and be able to meet/exceed customer expectations. You will have exceptional communications skills and strong attention to detail.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take overall control of project management, drive projects and ensure they are completed on time, on budget and with quality as demanded by customer
  • There is a design component to the role, so good working marine design knowledge to class standards.
  • Strong communications, asking questions, seeking information.
  • Provide factory continuity support to the General Manager
  • Ensure frequent and timely updating of COGS (Cost of goods) for projects and individual product items
  • Technical procurement of components
  • Support factory staff on build and management of communications between engineering team and factory team.
  • Track and report key targets and build measurements

KEY ATTRIBUTES

  • Strong attention to detail, urgency, ability to drive projects ahead.
  • Highly inquisitive nature, must ask lots of questions to ensure learning and development is on track
  • Hands on knowledge of building, a practical mindset, previous building or engineering experience with tools will be a significant advantage
  • Design skills, Solidworks, Autocad, essential.
  • Strengths in communication and time management.
  • A highly structured and organised approach
  • Able to accurately follow SOP’s.
  • Works well under pressure
  • Logical thinker, can work ‘outside the square’ to resolve issues.
  • An knowledge of the marine industry a significant advantage but not essential.
  • Very keen to learn and grow in a role for a global industry leader.
