Main Role

• Carry out engineering duties as requested by the service team coordinator
• Use appropriate tools for testing, fault finding and repair work
• Routine servicing and maintenance on a variety of marine engines, gearboxes and associated parts
  and systems
• Fault diagnosis, trouble shooting and repairs on all marine systems throughout the vessel
• Hands on work in the workshop and remotely at the vessel as required
• Self check work to ensure quality standards are maintained and report problems and repair as required

· Installation work (engines, gearboxes and associated parts and systems)

Qualifications and experience

• New Zealand recognised trade qualification as a Marine Technician
• Experienced in servicing, troubleshooting and repair of marine propulsion systems and generators
• Electrical component and wiring troubleshooting and repair
• Confident with parts dentification
• Wide range of marine engine and gearbox servicing experience
• Fuel systems components, layout and fault finding
• Marine electrical DC and AC systems
• Grey and Black water systems and components
• Fresh and salt water systems and components
• Bilge water systems steering and hydraulic systems
• Refrigeration systems
• Propellers, shafting and associated components
• Engine and gearbox control systems

· Pre and post work sea trials and assessments
